Reni[1] (IPA(key) /rɛ'ni/), sometimes referred to by her full title as Princess Reni, is a young female Dragon who works for the Human Kingdom. She holds the title of Royal Dragon, which was passed on to her from her mother, and has been raised almost exclusively by Humans all her life. Reni serves the Human Kingdom in over seeing various operations and appears to carry quite a high status due to her title.
Her orders as the Royal Dragon would send her to the town of Edinmire to oversee the Tiger meetings, an attempt by the Humans to make an alliance with the Tiger Keidran in their current war with the Wolves. After she assists in fending off an attack on the town she is instructed by Keiren, the captain of Edinmire's militia, to accompany Trace Legacy to his Estate and from there guard a captured member of the attacking group in his manor's dungeon. Reni doesn't appear to have any other current goals besides performing her duties in the interest of the Human Kingdom.
Appearance[]
In her normal Dragon form Reni is considerably smaller than other Dragons such as Lady Nora due to her young age by Dragon standards. She is naturally black in colour with the exception of her golden horns. She typically wears black and gold armour, presumably given to her by the Humans while serving them, which covers her stomach and back. The armour wraps around her front legs with gold straps and black plates down her back and tail for protection. Her armour is finally completed with a saddle bag on either side.
In her Human form she appears a dark skinned young woman with golden eyes and long black hair. Her horns are still remain in this form but are somewhat shrunken to accommodate her smaller size. These horns maintain the same shape in this form as well but instead both are seen protruding from her hair and nearly curling on both sides of her face. As Karen points out Reni has a very small bust in this form, if one at all. Reni explains this is due her being a quadruped normally, a Dragon, and how breasts would prove ineffective so she simply chose to have them small in her Human form because she is not used to them.

Reni, and by extention her mother, is considered an anomaly among dragons due to her unique heritage, having human blood relations. Although Reni is unclear of how it was able to occur, she recounts that her grandmother was a princess of the human royal family while her grandfather was a dragon, one of Lady Nora's many grandchildren, who through some means had intimate relations with her grandmother. Reni speculates that her grandfather transformed her grandmother into a dragon through magic, and their union resulted in the birth of her mother, whom was born a dragon, in which she was raised strictly by her grandmother's side. The species of Reni's father is unclear; he may have been a dragon himself, or her mother used similar magic on him in order to have a similar union.
Reni is the second to hold the title of "Royal Dragon" after inheriting it from her mother. Technically, despite being related to the human royal family, she admits to not being considered royal herself or in any way eligible for the throne, likely because of her nature as a dragon.
Chapter 18[]
Reni first appears to end the skirmish between Sarah, Keith, Lynn and Madelyn. She pacifies Sarah with a sleep spell before heading off to attend the tiger meetings beginning elsewhere in the town of Edinmire. Before she leaves she accidentally reveals what she thinks of Keiren, in which Reni thought he is cute.

Chapter 19[]
Reni is seen later that night proceeding the previous chapter's ending, drinking water from the Legacy Estate's fountain while she waits for Trace's group to arrive. Upon seeing them, she hastily stands to attention and addresses Lieutenant Alice Reed to give her a report on the aftermath of the Edinmire attack. When Trace tries to approach her she becomes very intense and then asks that she be able to read his mind to confirm his identity. After passing through some memories such as Trace and Flora's first time sleeping together, much to Reni's shock and embarrassment that the Grand Templar of all people would do such a thing with a Keidran, she finally comes across a memory of Lady Nora just before she went to sleep. Despite it being a memory, Nora is strong enough to realize this and warns Reni that it is rude to pry which causes Reni even more embarrassment, but does confirm Trace is who he says he is. Reni follows Trace's group into the manor and sleeps there over night.
The next morning she is seen at breakfast and begins talking to Trace and Flora while they eat too. She reveals that she has been interrogating the prisoner since but the conversation has been very one sided, frankly due to a lack of cooperation, but because Reni actually can't even speak Keidran. Natani has since discovered her brother Zen is nearby and he needed some way to get to him, a job he then asks if Reni will help with. Despite being told to stay at the manor to guard the prisoner Reni accepts and flies the group in her saddle bags on her armour to wherever Zen is but upon reaching Zen she crash lands badly leading to a interesting reunion between Group A and Group B at last.
Chapter 20[]
Reni makes her first appearance in the chapter a little over half way through. Previously Madelyn and Karen had been imprisoned in the Legacy Estate dungeon by a mysterious enchanted stone guard, but the duo were eventually able to escape due to Madelyn's skill at picking locks. The duo then run into Reni after she came to investigate the sound of their battle against the guard earlier. After a brief greeting, all three of them have their attentions drawn to the Wolf prisoner locked in another nearby cage. Madelyn immediately begins to interrogate the prisoner, who quickly identifies himself as Brutus, about the group he works for. Reni soon intervenes telling them that it is not a legal questioning and that they must wait until the proper authorities arrive as per her orders. The three of them leave into the adjoining hallway, after briefly discussing what the prisoner had told them so far Reni asks to inspect Madelyn's injuries from the fight with the stone guardian. Reni attempts to inspect the wounds using her mind reading powers but is unsuccessful in locating a problem and before anything further could be done the trio are approached by Sythe and Karen's sister Maren heading to check out the so called magic "beach room". After teasing her older sister about her current situation with Sythe Karen turns her fleeting attention to Reni and asks her if she wants to join them for a beach party. Reni appeared to be apprehensive but after remembering that Keiren had told her to keep a close eye on everyone she agreed to come, although she said that she needed "change" before taking her leave.
Later on during the beach party Karen questioned where Reni was only for her to turn up on cue in her Human form, though Reni was slightly nervous considering she hadn't used that form much and was worried that it may look a little off compared to a real Human. During the party Reni, in her human form, was seen talking to Eric at one point but later on was approached by Trace who told her he was glad she came, Reni returned Trace's thanks by telling him that she was glad she got the chance to feel more comfortable around Humans for a change. Soon after their brief conversation Trace called everyone at the party over to propose to Flora to which Reni commented on their cross species relationship by saying she wished everyone could be more open about the idea of these kind of bonds, before quickly trying to deny she meant herself. When the beach room then began to collapse suddenly she is seen remarking how she feels "Strange magic in the air."
Chapter 21[]
As clouds start swirling above the Oasis Room, they try to escape through the door below the waterfall only to find the only door open is full of beach supplies. Karen suggests Reni turn back into a dragon and break a wall to escape, but she refuses to destroy property. Then, stone lizards start to attack them. Reni tries to order them to stand down, but one of them punches her and she then agrees to turn back into a dragon to fight them off. Several of the lizards claw at her with one of them scraping her shoulder, but Natani blasts them away with magic. Reni claims the injury isn't serious, but she is in more pain then she lets on.

Reni is a young Dragon who attempts to be imposing. So far, all cases of her have resulted in people seeing Reni as anything. She is generally polite and, for the most part, takes her duties seriously. She is also shown to be very clumsy in multiple cases such as crash landing or mentioning Keiren as "kinda cute", only to realize she was speaking through telepathy which allows him to hear it very clearly. Due to her clumsiness and inexperience because of her young age, Reni is easily flustered and embarrassed quite often.

Being a dragon means that Reni already has significant magical power. Through the comics Reni has demonstrated various abilities associated with magic including:

Physical Strength, Fire Breath and Flying[]
Due to being a dragon Reni's large size and physical might is quite significant, she is able to knock a robed Brutus to the ground unconscious in one strike. Although she has not yet used her fire breath an example of her almost doing so can be seen in the gallery below, confirming that even if she has not used this power yet she possesses it. In addition to the previous examples being a dragon grants Reni wings, therefore the ability to fly and with a considerable weight on her back at that, even if she isn't very good a sticking the landings.

Trivia[]
- Despite the being referred to as a "Royal Dragon," and being known as "Princess Reni", she states that she is not nobility. She is the second Dragon to hold the title, the first being her mother.
- Although Reni is 20 years old by Human standards and acts like an adult, she is actually still a juvenile Dragon. It is unknown if Dragons are immortal or not but it is mentioned that they only grow stronger with age. Lady Nora is slightly over 2000 years old which hints that they can indeed live for a very long time.
- Reni is commonly seen followed by a orange and black butterfly, even when in Human form the butterfly still remains, sitting itself on the side of her head.
- Although Reni must talk to other species via telepathy, lacking the ability to speak when in Dragon form, she reluctantly admits she doesn't understand non-Human language which means that she cannot understand anything they say back. In Human form she is shown to be able to speak normally, most likely due to the presence of Human vocals in said form.
- She mentions she likes to collect magical items as a hobby, one such item is a teleportation staff that Trace's group uses to return to his Estate after meeting up with Group B.
- Reni may have a crush on Keiren, the Captain of Edinmire's local militia. Upon there first meeting is she states that she finds him "kinda cute" and secondly when Trace proposes to Flora at his estate Reni remarks that she wishes people of different species could be more open with their feelings but then blushingly assured everyone that she didn't mean herself. Reni's crush on Kerian is much more overplayed in the non-canon comedy Side Sketches featuring the two of them.
