The Festival of the Beasts is a festival held annually in the large port city of Wreathwood. The story goes that during the first year of the city's founding the original Human settlers suffered a harsh winter, but the native Keidran tribes soon appeared to offer some of their own supplies as a showing of good faith. The Humans greatly appreciated the offering and both races enjoyed a brief season of peace that had never been seen before, or since, in Mekkan's history between the two races. The festival was then created to commemorate this act of kindness which had proved essential to the city's survival.
Throught the years, the festival was enjoyed by both Human and Keidran residents of Wreathwood alike. However, when Trace Legacy became the new Grand Templar, he had the festival banned, purely out of his deep personal resentment towards Keidran. The festival's ban remained in effect for four years, between 478-481, much to the disappointment of Wreathwood's residents. Eventually, after the mysterious disappearance of Trace Legacy, the city took the opportunity to celebrate the festival once again, starting in 482.
